March 16 - A massive GBP4.5 million (USD6.2 million) investment by Port Services Group has brought the largest mobile crane ever to be based in Scotland to the group's Aberdeen operations.

Steve Clark, Port Services managing director, said: "This crane offers huge potential for us to diversify and effectively serve the heavy lifting requirements of a number of different industry sectors." The group plans to market the crane on a UK-wide scale in industries including renewable energy, petrochemicals, rail, road and general construction.

The company acquired the 1,000 tonne Terex-Demag TC2800-1 crane last year, and it is currently the only one employed by Port Services, which is assessing the market conditions before acquiring further cranes.
