Reachstackers take river route

November 3 - Two new reachstackers for the Southern Terminal of the Port of Strasbourg have been delivered.

The two Hyster RS 46-36 CH reachstackers, which replace two older reachstackers, were transported via inland waterway having been loaded on a barge in the Port of Nijmegen, the Netherlands, where the Hyster factory is located, before sailing down the river Rhine to the Port of Strasbourg.

These reachstackers use less fuel than older pieces of equipment and so will be more economic and environmentally friendly.
