Laura Mattiello has joined the operations team at semi-submersible yacht delivery specialist Sevenstar. The company has also opened department focusing on the specific demands of the sports fishing sector.
Mattiello will work out of Sevenstar’s headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. A former port and Customs agent at Multiå Marine Services, Mattiello has spent the past 12 years handling port calls for large and small cargo vessels. Her new role involves managing vessels and working with Sevenstar’s global network of local port agents.
Sevenstar also established a sports fishing logistics division to better serve the bespoke requirements of this sector. The department, led by USA West Coast office manager Kris Caren, will provide a dedicated service to its fishing clients.
“The world of sport fishing is a world of its own,” said Wiebke Bokelmann Ratha, Sevenstar trade manager. “Clients need a load master in port longer beforehand to help prepare the boat for transport. With the boat also comes the need for power and water while on deck, the need for riders onboard and for shipping (sometimes cooled) containers with fishing gear together with the boats, [and for] all cargo to arrive in time for the events.”
Sevenstar is official sponsor for Bisbee’s Black & Blue event – an international fishing tournament – held October 25-29, 2022, off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
