Konecranes president and ceo Rob Smith will leave the company at the end of the year. The company’s chief financial officer and deputy ceo, Teo Ottola, will act as interim ceo from January 2022 until the completion of the planned merger between Konecranes and Cargotec.
Smith joined Konecranes in February 2020. He will leave the company on December 31, 2021.
The merger is currently scheduled for completion by the middle of the next year. After which, Mika Vehviläinen will start his role as president and ceo of the merged company. Vehviläinen has served as Cargotec’s ceo since 2013.
