The standout session at this week's Breakbulk Americas must be the one on Thursday, during which experts from both sides of the project logistics supply chain will discuss the current prospects for the sector.

In light of the tightening supply of heavy lift and multipurpose vessels that appears to lie ahead as a result of the looming IMO regulations on ballast water and emissions; the cost of compliance; neglected maintenance; fleet consolidation; and a gradually improving market, the panel will consider what these trends mean for the projects sector.

Dominik Stehle of deugro Group, Justin Archard of SAL Heavy Lift; Brent Berg from Thorco Projects; Philip Brown from Fluor; David Lloreda Calero of BBC Chartering; and Andrew Young from Bechtel, will consider whether the tide is turning and the long lasting buyer’s market is coming to an end. Or will tariffs, political turmoil or some other source of uncertainty slow this upswing?
