March 19 - Volga-Dnepr's planned acquisition of Air Cargo Germany is now waiting for anti-trust clearance from the authorities says the airline.

HLPFI understands that German antitrust authorities said that the Russian cargo airline group sought approval for the deal on March 1 and a decision is expected before the end of March.

The acquisition would boost the Russian cargo airline's presence in Europe's largest airfreight market, increasing its market share and enabling it to launch new flights from Europe.

Founded in 2008, Air Cargo Germany operates four Boeing 747-400s on routes including China, South Africa, India and the United Arab Emirates. It recently launched services from Germany to South Korea and between Hong Kong and Paraguay.
