WCTS to cover 'disruptive' changes

September 28 - Mammoet ceo Jan Kleijn will use his keynote address at the upcoming World Crane & Transport Summit (WCTS) to ask if the industry is fully prepared for potentially "disruptive" changes in technology and business environments.

"There are important trends that affect our industry, geo-economically, technologically and environmentally," said Kleijn. "These trends are sources of both innovation and disruption. What is it going to mean for our industry? Can we embrace the change and are we up for the challenges?"

The two-day WCTS event will be held at the NH Grand Krasnapolsky Hotel in Amsterdam, the Netherlands from November 4 - 5, 2015.

Joining Kleijn to speak at the summit will be Jussi Yli-Niemi of Havator Group, Marco van Daal of The Works International, Mathias Rehe from Daco Heavy Lift, Norbet van Schaik of Siemens Wind Power, Wagenborg Nedlift's Ton Klijn, Ton Raemakers from Euro-Rigging, Frank Bardonaro of Maxim Crane, and Vincent Teo from Bok Seng Logistics.

Among disruptive changes to the industry, the event will cover a number of topics, including managing wind turbine projects; the European crane operator license scheme; the special demands of oil and gas projects; new operating guidelines for self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT); succession planning for family-owned businesses; reports on developing markets; and a round table on recruiting and retaining people.
