James White will resign as executive director at the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Port Administration (MDOT MPA), effective December 31.

White first joined the port of Baltimore in 1993 as director of operations. From 2005 and 2007, he served as senior vice president and chief operating officer for New Jersey-based Ceres Terminals, before returning to MDOT MPA as its executive director.

During this time, and under White’s stewardship, the port of Baltimore said it has improved its rankings, upgraded its security procedures and completed infrastructure projects that make it capable of receiving some of the largest ships in the world.
