May 22 - All eyes are now focused on Antwerp where the cream of the world's heavy lift and project forwarding community will gather next week for the 4th Annual Breakbulk Europe Conference and Exhibition.

The sagging global economy has caused downturns in many breakbulk cargoes, from steel and copper to forest products and project cargo. As a result, softening demand has sent charter rates tumbling at a time when many multipurpose vessel operators have a backlog of new building orders. While shippers wait to see what kind of stimulus packages come out of different countries, the breakbulk industry is "Working Toward Recovery," which is the theme of this year's event.

The Breakbulk Europe conference programme will feature a lineup of key industry executives and leaders who will examine the challenges facing this industry and how they are working toward recovery.
