Heavy-duty trailer manufacturer TII Scheuerle has added a fully electric, emission-free power pack units (PPU) to its range.
TII Scheuerle said the ePPU is as efficient and high-performing as the most powerful diesel-driven PPU, with its battery capacity allowing a Scheuerle SPMT a full day of operating without needing to be recharged. The ePPU is compatible with Scheuerle SPMT axle lines from generation two to four.
The ePPU produces less noise than a conventional PPU and does not emit pollutants, so it does not negatively affect the health of users/those nearby. The model can be used for operations of up to 26 driven pendulum axles or as many as 40 conventional axle lines. Maximum torque is available imminently, making the ePPU suited for work where transport speed to be reached very quickly.
Operated by a lithium-ion battery, the ePPU can be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes via a CCS power plug with up to 300 kW, or via an AC grid connection (with up to 44 kW) overnight or during longer downtimes.
