Impact monitoring equipment manufacturer SpotSee has launched a device that combines impact-damage monitoring with radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology – ShockWatch RFID.

Designed to track damage through the supply chain and identify affected inventory, SpotSee said the device is ideal for the automotive, medical devices/equipment and aerospace industries.

“ShockWatch RFID combines the benefits of traditional RFID inventory management with impact-damage monitoring, allowing users to… identify and reduce the sources of damage in their supply chain,” said Angela Kerr, vice president, product portfolio at SpotSee.

The device also provides an electronic record of using enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, warehouse management system or in the SpotSee Cloud.

“Understanding what, where and why damage took place, users can make informed decisions to deter mishandling, reduce the cost of damage and refine processes to reduce supply chain disruptions,” explained SpotSee.
