Express Global Logistics (EXG) recently executed a project shipment, moving two 137-tonne ammonia converter baskets from Gujarat, India to Jebel Ali port in the UAE.

The units, plus accessories, were packed in six boxes and moved using EXG’s owned assets. The weight and dimensions (32 m x 4.13 m x 4.1 m) of the baskets meant attention to tight turning radii and horizontal clearances along the route were imperative. These challenges were compounded by the national lockdown; delays arose from a misaligned dispatch schedule and berthing restrictions at Hazira port.

However EXG’s chartering and planning team said that it managed to sail-off the cargo with no additional cost to the customer.

EXG is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) representing India.
