October 10 - Volga-Dnepr Group has taken delivery of its latest Boeing 747-8 freighter, which will be employed in the fleet of AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC).

The delivery increases the size of ABC's fleet to 16 B747 freighters.

In July of this year, Volga-Dnepr Group and Boeing finalised terms for the acquisition of 20 B747-8 freighters, four of which had already been delivered.

Future deliveries of B747-8 aircraft will lead to the phasing out of the remaining 747-400 freighters in the ABC fleet.

Volga-Dnepr Group's deal with Boeing involves a long-term logistics support agreement, which will see Volga-Dnepr provide logistics services to Boeing and its partners using its fleet of AN-124-100 and B747 freighters.

Tatyana Arslanova, vice president, strategic management and charter cargo operations at Volga-Dnepr Group, cuts the red ribbon to mark the handover of the new B747-8 freighter to ABC. She is joined by Sergey Lazarev, general director of ABC, and Alexey Isaykin, president of Volga-Dnepr Group.
