BTP launches breakbulk service

May 2 - Following an initial agreement with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), Brasil Terminal Portu

With this new service option, the terminal will start to operate breakbulk cargoes moved on rolling platforms and Mafi trailers.

"With this new operation, which has its focus on project cargoes and machinery markets, BTP broadens the range of services offered to its customers. The service will call at the terminal every 15 days, and may switch into a weekly call, according to the market demand", explained Alan Lear, commercial director of BTP.

BTP will be responsible for scheduling, storing, handling and loading of general cargo booked by WWL. This new service will increase the throughput capacity for this type of cargo in the port of Santos, said BTP.

The first cargoes handled by BTP were carried on WWL's Medea, and BTP explained that for the time being it is concentrating operations with Wallenius.
