The Rhenus Group is expanding its services in Oceania through the establishment of its first branch in New Zealand.
Based in Auckland, Rhenus Logistics NZ will provide comprehensive international and domestic logistics solutions as well as Customs consultancy services.
A natural focus for activities will be on the imports from both the Asian and European markets, given the high demand for products into New Zealand from these origins. The Trans-Tasman market between Australia and New Zealand will also be a key market, says Rhenus.
“We’ve been investing in the expansion of our network in the Asia Pacific region for several years. We took over the Australian company O’Brien Logistics about one year ago and integrated it within the Rhenus Group. We’ve also opened many new business sites, for example in South Korea, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and in the Philippines,” adds Jan Harnisch, ceo Far East Asia.
