Fitzgerald returns to Crowley 

Crowley Maritime Corporation has appointed Ray Fitzgerald as its chief operating officer, effective March 1. 

Fitzgerald previously worked for Crowley from 1987 to 2000, where he held a number of commercial roles within the company’s liner services group. He then joined Wallenius Wilhelmsen and served in a variety of senior leadership positions, including president and chief operating officer of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions and chairman of American Roll-on Roll-off Carrier (ARC). 

In his new role at Crowley, Fitzgerald will lead a team of four senior vice presidents and general managers: Rocky Smith, Crowley Fuels; Rob Grune, Crowley Shipping; Steve Collar, Crowley Logistics; and Shiju Zacharia, Crowley Solutions.

He will based at the company’s headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida and report to Tom Crowley, company chairman and ceo.
