Jumbo wins Hornsea contract

Jumbo will transport 165 monopiles and 135 transition pieces for Ørsted’s Hornsea Two offshore wind farm, on behalf of DEME Offshore.

The monopiles will be transported from Rostock, Germany to Eemshaven, the Netherlands, while the transition pieces will be shipped from Aalborg, Denmark to Eemshaven.

Jumbo will also be responsible for the project management for the transport scope, including the engineering and design of transport cradles. The heavy lift shipping specialist will use a K3000-type vessel for the project.

Hornsea Two will be located approximately 89 km (55.3 miles) off the Yorkshire coast in the UK part of the North Sea.
