Wind energy boosts Longview revenue

Imports of wind energy components and steel, as well as soda ash exports, helped the port of Longview in the USA exceed its 2019 budget projections.

The budget projected lower revenue resulting from global market conditions that had adversely affected several grain products. While overall tonnage came in lower than anticipated, a diverse cargo mix helped offset the reduction in tonnage at the Export Grain Terminal (EGT) at Berth 9, said the port.

Year-end financial results showed operating revenue of USD38.5 million – a USD2.5 million increase compared to the expected budget of USD36 million.
