The silos were received at Goole Dock and transported to Collett’s Goole depot for temporary storage. Two of the units measured 19.3 m x 4.8 m x 5 m and weighed 21 tonnes. Another 21-tonne unit measured 20.1 m x 4.9 m x 4.8 m, while the heaviest silo in the batch – tipping the scales at 22 tonnes – measured 19.8 m x 4.8 m x 4.8 m.

Prior to the transport, Collett’s project department conducted a route survey to identify any necessary route modifications, such as street furniture removal and tree surgery. Due to the dimensions of the largest silos, bridge height surveys were required along a section of the M1 motorway.

The silos were subsequently loaded onto hydraulic modular vessel bridge trailers, specifically built to meet the cargo dimensions, and delivered to the site over the course of two weeks.
