Edwards unloaded the generator from onto a 15-axle Goldhofer PST combination using its 700-ton (635-tonne) capacity J&R gantry. The Goldhofer axles were then used to transload the unit onto a road transporter.

To comply with the Indiana Department of Transportation’s (INDOT) requirements, and to mitigate overhead obstructions, Edwards used its Goldhofer F5 high girder bridge for the transport.

The combination’s gross vehicle mass (GWV) came in at 1.6 million lbs (725 tonnes), said Edwards.
