Turkish heavy lift and transport engineering company Hareket will soon begin work on Oman’s second-largest wind farm, handling the port operations and transport of 36 wind turbines.
Hareket will begin the project in November, with completion slated for March 2026.
Hareket’s scope includes the transport of 91 m-long wind turbine blades, the longest ever transported in Oman. These will be moved along a challenging 387 km route from the port of Duqm to the project site in Nimr.
Abdullah Altunkum, the company’s ceo, said that this latest project is an example “that Hareket is becoming an increasingly influential player in the global arena”.
He added: “Our goal is to generate sustainable solutions for the world’s energy transition and contribute not only regionally, but globally. In the coming period, we will continue to strengthen Hareket’s global brand by participating in larger and more strategic projects around the world.”
A recent example of Hareket’s work in the wind energy sector was the delivery of 15 wind turbines in Türkiye. This involved transporting 90.29 m-long wind turbine blades along a 520 km route.
