Turkish heavy lift and transport engineering company Hareket has delivered heavy and oversized components for the Navoi 3 combined-cycle power plant project in Uzbekistan.

The cargoes included a 321-tonne GT generator, a 316-tonne ST generator, a 285-tonne GT lower cylinder, a 179-tonne ST package and 590 units of accessories totalling 4,462 cu m. 

The project’s main components embarked on a multimodal journey from Kobe in Japan. They were shipped to Haydarpaşa port in Türkiye, where they were transferred onto river vessels for onward transport to Bautino port in Kazakhstan via the Caspian Sea. They were then delivered to the Navoi site by road.

Accessories, meanwhile, were loaded in Kobe, Busan in South Korea and Thailand. They were delivered to Qingdao port in China for onward transport by road via the Khorgos border gate to the Navoi site.

“This operation, which connected multiple countries, transport modes and logistical challenges, stands as a remarkable example of successful multimodal transportation,” said Hareket.
