Mammoet has lifted and installed a 120-tonne reactor tank and two 80-tonne stripping columns at a live manufacturing facility in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia.

Mammoet used a large CC2800 crawler crane, alongside a smaller Sennebogen S5500, to complete the works. The CC2800 was positioned in such a way as to avoid interference with the site’s production activities.

The components were transported from a storage location to the lift site using 20 axle lines of SPMTs.

Mammoet said that the sequence used to lift the reactor and columns did not require repositioning of the superlift tray and counterweights – eliminating the need to have an additional crane for assistance at the back of the main crane, which minimised the ground space taken up on site.
