Jumbo’s heavy lift vessel Fairpartner has delivered a second 685-tonne shiploader that forms part of a sulphur terminal upgrade in Ras Laffan, Qatar.
Following months of preparation and close cooperation with DSV, Bedeschi, Tecnicas Reunidas and Wison Engineering, the cargo was loaded aboard the vessel in China and delivered to Ras Laffan
While the operation went smoothy, it was highly complex. The shiploader’s high centre of gravity and narrow lifting points demanded precise engineering. Extreme heat on the ground was managed thanks to strict heat-stress management protocols, including adjusted work and rest cycles, shaded areas and consistent hydration.
This delivery wraps up the final major crane infrastructure for the terminal’s upgrade, supporting QatarEnergy’s North Field expansion project.
