Indian project logistics specialist Total Movements has delivered a pair of 643-tonne coke drums to one of the largest oil refineries in India.
Total Movements handled the multimodal, door-to-door shipment of the coke drums, with the consignment totalling over 10,200 freight tons. “Our scope involved road transportation from supplier’s factory to the nearest jetty, rolling the drums onto the barge, barging to the port closest to the refinery site, inland delivery and placement to the foundation,” explained Total Movements’ project manager.
Total Movements – member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India – carried out meticulous planning and coordination before beginning its scope of work.
Utilising both marine and inland logistics methods, operations took place during heavy monsoon rainfall, necessitating strict safety controls. Despite tide constraints and road transportation challenges due to poor infrastructure and space restrictions, Total Movemetns delivered the coke drums to the refinery on time.
HLPFI reported in August 2025 that Total Movements had been on hand to execute the door-to-port delivery of a 375-tonne oversized vacuum tower, from India’s west coast to the east.
