Freight forwarder TSL Australia has coordinated delivery of a tunnel thrust frame for the Sydney West Harbour Tunnel infrastructure project.
TSL Australia’s scope included the Customs clearance, vessel-side under-hook handling and direct-to-truck (DTT) delivery of the tunnel thrust frame.

Initially, though, the cargo was shipped onboard the 2025-built bulk carrier JNS Peace from Shanghai, China to the port of Newcastle, Australia. The shipment – with a combined weight of 303 tonnes – comprised eight oversized deck pieces that were delivered straight to the jobsite near Sydney Harbour.
With the largest individual units weighing up to 45 tonnes, smaller breakbulk and project cargo pieces were part of the shipment, and these were discharged to laydown stack at the port and delivered in stages over the following days to match site sequencing. Close coordination between stevedores, transport providers and site teams were crucial to ensure the safe and timely delivery of the cargoes, said TSL.
HLPFI reported last year that TSL Australia had discharged 12 oversized breakbulk units at Port Kembla, which had been shipped from Phú Mỹ, Vietnam.
