Wieringermeer wind farm progresses

Van der Vlist has commenced the second phase of its project scope for the Wieringermeer wind farm project in the Netherlands.

The first phase of the project saw Van der Vlist transport 50 wind turbines for the project, as HLPFI reported here.

Now, the company has begun moving a further 32 wind turbines, with the first shipment of tower sections arriving at its terminal in Moerdijk in mid-April.

According to Van der Vlist, the wind turbine blades, which measure almost 60 m long, will soon be re-loaded onto trailers and transported to the project site.

Van der Vlist’s project scope includes the unloading and handling of components in Moerdijk, storage, and road transport to the project site in Wieringermeer.
