Chapman Freeborn Airchartering and Maximus Air Cargo have transported a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine to Addu Atoll in the Maldives.

Chapman Freeborn chartered an AN-124 from Maximus Air’s fleet to transport the machine, plus 166 additional components, from Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai to Gan International Airport in the Maldives.

Due to limited cargo-handling capabilities at Gan, Chapman Freeborn project managers accompanied the cargo on the six-hour flight to help oversee safe unloading of the equipment.

According to Samir Ramadan, vice president-commercial at Maximus Air, this was the first ever AN-124 operation into Gan Island.

The delivery of the machine is part of the expansion at Hithadhoo regional hospital in Addu Atoll.
