Roll-Lift USA has transported wind turbine blades, measuring 67 m in length, from ship-side to a storage facility at Industrial Terminals on the Houston ship canal.

In order to transport the Vestas blades, modifications were made to the company’s 48 m-long Nooteboom trailers.

According to Roll-Lift the blades will eventually be transported to Greensport Terminal for onward transportation to Pueblo, Colorado.

Elsewhere, RollDock’s heavy lift vessel RollDock Sea has transported 36 wind turbine blades, measuring 70 m in length, from El Ferrol, Spain to Pitea, Sweden.

The blades were stored in frames three layers high below deck, while five more layers were placed on the hatch covers.
