ACI completes complex hydro project

July 1 - WCA Projects member ACI Cargo has completed the shipment of components for a power-generating thermal plant in Columbia.

The equipment was shipped from Shanghai, China, in partnership with fellow WCA Projects member, Sinotrans.
Upon arrival in Columbia, the 181 tonne generator stator was hauled 450 km from the port of Barranquilla to the project site in Montelibano. ACI built five temporary bridges and provided special equipment to reinforce existing infrastructure to ensure safe delivery of the shipment.
ACI Cargo president, Raul Gonzalez, said that the challenging move was completed without incident and that "with over 30 years of experience, we believe that we can offer customers 'the difference'".
