December 15 - Amrus Logistics has transported eight Komatsu 730 E dump trucks from Houston, USA to Magadan, Russia.

The Komatsu parts arrived at the Port of Houston from four different locations, explains Amrus president Nick Nickolaychuk. "Chassis and containers came by rail from Peoria, Illinois on special platforms, as each chassis weighed 93,450 lbs (42.4 tonnes).

"Bodies for the trucks, which were shipped in halves, arrived at the port from Mexico and Mills, Wyoming, while the motors for the wheels were shipped out of the Dallas area. Each unit also had four 40 ft containers, which we had to source as well."

According to Nickolaychuk, the coordination of the vendors, and ensuring the freight arrived at the port at specific times, was the biggest challenge of the project.

With a total volume of 5,728.7 cu m, the shipment departed Houston onboard BBC Chartering's vessel, BBC Newcastle.

Upon arrival at the Port of Magadan, the dump trucks will be taken to the mining site and assembled. Amrus Logistics completed this project in partnership with Nawinia Russia
