May 31 - BigLift Shipping's vessel Happy Dynamic has transported two 560-tonne Siwertell continuous ship unloaders (CSU) from Chioggia, Italy to Liverpool in the UK.

Measuring 35 m high by 24 m wide, the CSUs - each of which have a discharge capacity of 1,200 tonnes per hour when in service - were loaded fully assembled onto the BigLift ship using its two 400-tonne capacity cranes in a tandem lift.

To reduce forces on the units during the voyage, the CSUs were placed on Happy Dynamic's tween deck and lashed down using wires and a special pull bar system. Due to the height of the two pieces, the vessel sailed with open hatches.

On arrival in Liverpool, the CSUs were lifted over the conveyor belt and installed directly onto rails where they are scheduled to enter service, discharging wood pellets, in a month.
