June 20 - BigRoll Shipping's second MC Class ship BigRoll Bering has been handed over to the company by Cosco Dalian Shipyard.

HLPFI reported in January that BigRoll Bering had been launched by the Chinese shipyard.

BigRoll Bering will immediately enter into a multi-year contract with Yamgaz - the consortium of Technip, JGC Corporation and Chiyoda - for module transportation as part of the Yamal LNG project in Russia.

The vessel has the ability to operate in temperatures as low as - 55 °C, and features a large unobstructed deck and high service speed, said BigRoll.

The first module carrier, BigRoll Barentsz, was delivered in April and has completed its first voyage, transporting Yamal LNG modules directly from the fabrication yard in China to the project site in Sabetta.

A further two MC Class vessels will be delivered to the shipping line - BigRoll Baffin and BigRoll Beaufort.
