November 22 - Netherlands based transport and heavy lift business Blansjaar has acquired three Terex Challenger 3160 all-terrain cranes.

"We're a small, no-nonsense business. We all love our job and our cranes, all 33 of which are less than six years old," noted André Van Der Dussen, Blansjaar's current owner and managing director.

He remarked: "Our operators have the experience to lift virtually anything, but our specialised skills in handling rare and unique pieces of artwork are something that we are particularly proud of. We have even lifted a 5 m x 2 m Andy Warhol painting estimated at EUR25 million (USD32.2 million)."

The narrow streets and tall 16 m (52.5 ft) historical buildings of The Hague are all part of the constraints of the daily work schedule for Blansjaar, and the Challenger 3160 has already proved to be an asset, said Van Der Dussen.

With a 50 m single-cylinder telescopic boom, and a maximum lifting capacity of 35.6 tonnes when working with a reach of four metres, the Terex Challenger 3160 can be operated independently by a single person while remaining under an axle load limit of 12 tonnes.
