May 17 - With retroactive effect from the beginning of 2017, Bremen-based BLG Logistics has acquired the German forwarding company Kitzinger & Co, as well as its subsidiary Arno Rosenlöcher.

Both of the companies being acquired by BLG have been well known on the market for many years under the umbrella brand KICO, offering multimodal freight forwarding services, as well as project cargo logistics from its headquarters in Hamburg.

KICO is a key component in BLG's strategy of expanding its forwarding business and with 11 branches in Germany has good coverage of the whole country.

Founded in 1971 by Bringfried Kitzinger, the father of the current managing partner Björn Kitzinger, KICO has achieved steady growth.

The transaction is still subject to approval by the antitrust authority.
