Offshore contractor SBM Offshore has awarded BOA a contract to move three floating foundations for the Provence Grand Large (PGL) offshore wind farm in Marseille, France.
BOA will perform the load-out, shifting and float-off operations for the floating foundations at the fabrication yard in Fos-sur-Mer. Its scope includes engineering, project management and operations. The foundations will be transported using the 17,500 dwt semi-submersible Boa Barge 36, with tugs to assist.
The operations are expected to take place during the course of 2023.
The wind farm will comprise of three, 8 MW wind turbines installed on floating foundations designed and manufactured by SBM Offshore. SBM will also perform offshore installation.
