Offshore wind farm installation company Cadeler – previously known as Swire Blue Ocean – will install monopile foundations at the Ørsted Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm off the coast of Yorkshire.

Cadeler will send its vessel Pacific Orca to the UK in early 2021 to install 165 monopile foundations.

Once the foundations are in the water, 8.4 MW turbines will be delivered by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and installed by DEME vessels.

“We view DEME’s selection of Pacific Orca for assistance on Hornsea 2 as a reaffirmation of the strong connection between our companies,” said Mikkel Gleerup, ceo at Cadeler.
