July 24 - Luxembourg's LCGB union has begun a 24-hour warning action against Cargolux Airlines that started in the early hours of July 23.
Despite this action, Cargolux says that 73 percent of its pilots reported to work and 76 percent of flights are operating normally.
Cargolux stated that the LCGB action is illegal. "There is a valid collective work agreement in place, with parties actively negotiating towards a new agreement; and there is no dispute where non-conciliation has been declared. With its action, LCGB is in breach of its obligation to refrain from any act that could compromise the loyal execution of the collective agreement," said the company.
Cargolux added that LCGB's unlawful industrial action and its ongoing negative campaign against the airline are based on misleading statements, which are deceiving the public as well as Cargolux's employees and LCGB's own members.
A court has ordered the immediate stoppage of the action. The court order will see Cargolux claim compensation for the harm suffered as a result of the disruption to its business.
