Cider with Ollie

October 6 - Anyone who finds themselves in southern England this weekend should make a bee-line for the Old Rudgwick Cider Society's annual Apple Day which promises to be a very juicy apple fest for the whole family.

Society publicist and HLPFI publishing executive, Oliver Ward says that this third annual jamboree will feature stalls, children's games, a hog roast, the legendary RSCC bar and other food, whilst visitors will also get the opportunity to press some apples for juice and cider.

Ward says that Apple Day is a way of celebrating the common apple and its place in our community. A symbol of cultural and genetic diversity, the apple has its place in our history and our future. It serves to highlight the need to conserve our orchards for future generations and the refuge they provide for our wildlife.

Anyone who brings along a copy of HLPFI will be rewarded with free cider all day, adds Ward.
