October 22 - Wagenborg has transported two large columns from a fabrication yard in Kleve to Karlsruhe, where they were installed onto their foundations at the Miro fuel refinery.

The cargo consisted of a vacuum column, weighing 156 tonnes and measuring 41 m x 7.2 m x 6.6 m, and a TOP1 column, weighing 34 tonnes with the dimensions 11.5 m x 5.4 m x 5.5 m.

The larger column was transported by road using modular trailers, which were configured in a dolly combination, while the smaller column was transported using a 4-axle truck in combination with a 7-axle semi low-loader.

Both columns were delivered by road to Emmerich, before being rolled onto barges and shipped to Karlsruhe. From Karlsruhe, the cargo was transported to the final job site by road.

Once on site, one of Wagenborg's 750-tonne capacity Liebherr LR1750 crawler cranes was mobilised in order to perform the lifting and installation of both columns onto their foundations.
