April 18 - The Port of Long Beach, USA, has appointed Mario Cordero as the port's executive director.
Cordero, a former member of the Harbor Commissioners was appointed to the Federal Maritime Commission by President Barack Obama in 2011 and became chairman in 2013. While no longer the chairman, he is expected to serve on the maritime board until June 2019.
Cordero will succeed Duane Kenagy, who has been interim executive director since late 2016.
