September 8 - Cosco Shipping Co. Ltd. (Coscol) claims to have broken the record for loading the largest number of rubber-tyres gantry (RTG) cranes in complete sets onboard a vessel.
Coscol's multipurpose vessel Da De was loaded with seven fully assembled sets of RTGs in Taicang, China. Each RTG ranged in weight from 130 to 180 tonnes, measuring from 23 m to 27 m in height, about 27 m long and approximately 13.5 m in breadth.

In addition, Coscol's Da Chang lifted a crown-mounted compensator system to a height of 30 m, which the company claims to have broken another new cargo lifting height record.

Da De and Da Chang are Coscol's newest Da type III multipurpose heavy lift vessels, both of which have a single lifting capacity of 350 tonnes and a tandem lifting capacity of 700 tonnes.

Coscol currently has 14 newbuild vessels capable of transporting specialised cargoes, such as complete sets of RTGs.
