Rotterdam-headquartered Smit Lamnalco has taken delivery of the final two ASD Tugs 3212 in its series of newbuilds from Damen.

Smit Lamnalco placed the order for four ASD tugs in November 2017. Featuring a bollard pull of 80 tonnes, the first two units were delivered in June 2018.

The recently delivered tugs, Thunggun and Irrong, arrived in Darwin, Australia in October. According to Damen, they will shortly be head to the Weipa bauxite mine on the Cape York Peninsular, Queensland.

Both tugs have been finished to meet Australian standards, including AS 3000 electrical compliance.

Smit Lamnalco’s fleet includes harbour and terminal tugs, as well as offshore support vessels, providing marine services to oil, gas and LNG terminals as well as port operations.
