July 4 - AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) has transported a prototype of an autonomous vehicle developed by 2getthere, named Group Rapid Transit (GRT), on board a Boeing 747 freighter scheduled service, on behalf of Geodis.

ABC visited the production factory of the Utrecht, Netherlands-based technology company to design a loading plan for the oversized vehicle, which measures 6 m x 2.1 m x 2.8 m and can accommodate up to 24 passenger.

The cargo was transported from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the Netherlands to Singapore where it will be used for demonstrations to show its suitability for use at medium-sized airports, business campuses and entertainment parks.

According to Nico Kors, ABC's head of sales for the Netherlands, Denmark and Ireland, there is "a strong customer demand" for the airline's 'abc XL' services, which provides customised logistics solutions.
