August 22 - Hanjin Transportation of South Korea, a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network, has transported three heavy rail-mounted quay (RMQC) cranes from Taiwan to Jakarta by utilising its self-propelled barge Hanjin Pioneer.

The company has previously (HLPFI June 3, 2011) utilised the Hanjin Pioneer (pictured below) to transport significant ship assemblies from China to India.

Hanjin Transportation used the barge, designed for the handling of super heavy cargo such as evaporators for desalination plants, mega ship blocks and RMQCs, to move two mega ship blocks on its maiden voyage.

As well as acquiring the barge, Hanjin Transportation has also acquired 60-axles of SPMT capacity, bringing to 128-axles its capacity for land-based transport.
