It's a first for Chapman Freeborn

February 20 - Chapman Freeborn and its logistics partners, SPI Freight Ltd and Logik Logistics International have transported a C-Worker vessel from Portsmouth, UK to Lafayette, USA onboard a B747-800F.

This the first unit of the C-Worker vessel, which is an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) that is intended to revolutionise oil and gas operations by conducting autonomous subsea positioning, surveying and environmental monitoring, to be delivered.

The loading feasibility studies linked to this logistics project began a year ago, before construction of the C-Worker had even begun.

SPI Freight and Logik Logistics handled the packaging, export preparation and inland trucking of the cargo from Portsmouth to London Stansted Airport, where it was flown to the US on a chartered British Airways Boeing 747-800 freighter aircraft, coordinated by Chapman Freeborn.

"Along with our US team and logistics partners, we were able to deliver this product to its final destination in a quick and well organised manner," said Rudi Jones, project manager and cargo charter specialist at Chapman Freeborn's London Gatwick office.
