March 1 - Jonmoore International was contracted by African Mining Services Ghana (AMS) to transport a Liebherr 9250 excavator weighing approximately 275 tonnes over a distance of 15 km at the Iduapriem Mine in Tarkwa, Ghana.
The transport was carried out using 14 axle lines of Scheuerle-Kamag K25 H modular trailers, along with a MAN 8 x 4 600 HP tractor unit out of Jonmoore's owned fleet.
According to Jonmoore, this is the first time that a Liebherr 9250 excavator has been transported in one whole piece; in the past the machine would have been dismantled and transported using 13 flatbed/lowbed trailers.
