July 12 - Croatian shipbuilder Brodosplit has announced a contract from Jumbo Shipping to build a heavy lift ship for one of the world's leading shipping companies involved in transportation of heavy or overdimensional cargoes.

The shipyard says that on delivery, which is planned for the first half of 2013, the ship will be the largest in Jumbo'sfleet with a length of 152 m and breadth of 27 m. 

It will be equipped with two cranes each with capacities of 140 and 200 thousand ton metres. Deadweight on 8.1 m draft will be 14,000 dwt. 

Powered by two engines, each developing 4,500 kW at 750 rpm, it will have a speed of 17 knots. 

The ship will be built to Lloyd's Register Class.
