October 14 - Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" Line) has enhanced its Asia/Vietnam ro-ro service to accommodate increased demand in Vietnam.

"K" Line has changed its northern Vietnam discharge port from Cai Lan to Haiphong. Haiphong port established a dedicated ro-ro terminal for this service and "K" Line ships will have priority berthing privileges. Furthermore, Haiphong is more than 60 km closer to the capital city of Hanoi.

Service frequency has also been increased from one to two sailings per month. The 12,308 dwt ro-ro ship  Jasa Bakti, plus one additional vessel, will be mobilised on the service.

The changes to the schedule will come into effect on October 16, 2016.
