José Miguel Tortajada, managing director of MAHS, the HMM business unit in Sea & Ports Group, said: “Our expansion into Libya aligns seamlessly with our commitment to providing comprehensive maritime solutions in the Iberian Peninsula and across the North African region”.

Sea & Ports Group began expanding its footprint in the North African market in 2022, when it acquired a portion of Casablanca-headquartered NAL Maroc Maritime Agency in Morocco, whose main activity involved representing HMM. During 2023, Sea & Ports Group finalised the acquisition of the remaining shares in the company.

It has since established operations in Tunisia and Algeria. “The expansion into Libya further solidifies the group’s position as a key player in the maritime landscape of this region,” said Sea & Ports Group.
